Ceremonial Opening of the Newly constructed Swimming Pool

The newly constructed swimming pool was opened by the distinguish old boy former Governor of Lions Club, Deshabimanya Lion Rohantha de Fonseka on 28th June 2009. The total cost of the swimming pool was borne by Lion Rohantha de Fonseka and the Phase I of the ancillary buildings, viewing gallery etc. by the OBA through generous donations. Yet we need further donations to complete the entire swimming pool complex as planned and we request our OBA members and well wishers to send your generous donations to us to complete the balance remaining works as planned.

The opening ceremony commenced with the hoisting of National, College & Buddhist Flags and with the "official announcement" of opening of the swimming pool by Lion Rohantha de Fonseka. The days proceedings in the new pool commenced with an eye catching water ballet performed by the students of our sister school Sri Sumangala Girls School. Subsequently several swimming competitions for different age categories were held to mark the occasion by the students of our college. Also several other inter - school competitions were held to add glamor to the occasion. The ceremony came to an end with an exhibition water polo game by the students of Ananda College, Colombo and with the prize giving ceremony.
